Saxophone repair experience matters
A saxophone has over 600 individual components. The difference between an instrument that responds freely across all registers and one that fights the player is almost entirely in the details — pad sealing, key height, spring tension, tone hole levelness and the precise regulation that coordinates every key on the instrument. • Saxophone COA — Clean, Oil & Adjust
  Complete disassembly, thorough cleaning of body and keywork, pad inspection and reseating, neck cork replacement, felt and cork replacement throughout, key action regulation and lubrication. The recommended annual service for any actively played saxophone. A professional COA addresses the gradual mechanical deterioration that players often mistake for reed or mouthpiece problems — restoring the response, intonation and tone that the instrument was designed to produce.
  Available for soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone.
• Saxophone Overhaul
  The most comprehensive standard saxophone service. Full repad, complete mechanical overhaul, dent assessment, tone hole leveling where required, key fitting, regulation and professional setup. For saxophones that have not been serviced in years, instruments acquired used without a recent service history, or players preparing for auditions, recordings and extended performance seasons.
• Saxophone Rebuild
  A complete rebuild from the ground up — not just replacing what has worn out but optimizing every mechanical aspect of the instrument. Key fitting to eliminate all wobble and slop, regulation to the tightest possible tolerances, acoustic modifications where beneficial, and professional setup to the player's specific requirements. Joshua's training at the Music Medic Sax ProShop — the Uberhaul, Key Fitting and Modifications courses — makes this the most technically sophisticated saxophone service available in Calgary. Our Technician
Joshua Adam graduated with High Honours on the President's List from the Band Instrument Repair Program at Minnesota State College Southeast. He completed three specialist saxophone repair programs at the Music Medic Sax ProShop (Key fitting, Modifications, and Uberhaul) under Ryan Walker, the Boston Sax Shop repair course, and holds Straubinger certification. He has presented on instrument repair at the University of Calgary, the Alberta Teachers Convention, Minnesota State College's repair school and the 2026 YYC Saxophone Community Day. He is the most comprehensively trained saxophone repair technician in Alberta.
