Jody Jazz

The JodyJazz story goes all the way back to 1999. Company founder and professional saxophonist Jody Espina met legendary mouthpiece maker Santy Runyon — a meeting that radically altered Jody's life trajectory. Runyon customized a mouthpiece to Jody's exact specifications. When Jody fell in love with the mouthpiece, it was Santy's idea to produce it and call it the JodyJazz mouthpiece. Word got out and orders started to pour in from Jody's New York City location.

JodyJazz Inc. was formally established in 2000. In 2008 Espina moved the operation to Savannah, Georgia, and has since expanded the factory twice. The multi-storied factory and offices now occupy 10,000 square feet with a staff of 23 employees — making everything in house. In 2018 JodyJazz acquired Chedeville, and Espina redesigned the entire line of clarinet and saxophone mouthpieces while preserving all the best elements of Chedeville's glorious past.

JodyJazz mouthpieces are the choice of many of the world's top players including Kirk Whalum, George Garzone, Tom Scott, Jeff Coffin, Andy Snitzer and Don Braden. Every single JodyJazz mouthpiece is proudly crafted in Savannah, Georgia according to strict quality standards — featuring innovative patented designs and state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining combined with artisanal hand finishing. At Wind Instrument Proshop we carry the JodyJazz saxophone and clarinet mouthpiece lineup in Canada.

JodyJazz mouthpieces are played on stages and recording sessions worldwide — from jazz festivals to Broadway pit orchestras, from conservatory recitals to arena tours. Sold in over 60 countries across the globe, JodyJazz is genuinely one of the world's preeminent mouthpiece makers.
