Our Values
OUR REPAIR CREDENTIALS
Wind Instrument Proshop is home to one of the most comprehensively trained woodwind repair technicians in Canada. Our technician holds a college diploma in band instrument repair from Minnesota State College Southeast — graduating top of the class — alongside Muramatsu flute certification, Straubinger pad certification, completed courses from Boston Sax Shop, Music Medic overhaul, key fitting and modifications programs, and personal time spent one-on-one with Morrie Backun. These credentials place our repair technician among a handful of specialists in Canada qualified to work on the finest professional woodwind instruments at the highest standard.
OUR BRANDS
We carry an expert-curated selection of premium woodwind and brass brands — chosen because they deliver exceptional consistency and quality that serious players can depend on. Our current partnerships include Theo Wanne, JodyJazz, Muramatsu, Backun Musical Services, KB Sax, Drake, Chedeville, Clark Fobes, Boston Sax Shop, Lavoie, Fliphead, Long Island Brass Co., Wedge Mouthpieces, Rice Clarinet Works, Forestone, François Louis and many more. If there is a brand or product you are looking for that we do not currently carry — contact us. If there is sufficient interest we will do our best to make it available.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Every instrument sold by Wind Instrument Proshop is personally inspected and set up by our repair technician before it ships. We do not sell instruments new in box — every instrument leaves our hands in its best possible playing condition.
OUR COMMUNITY
Wind Instrument Proshop organizes three annual events — Clarinet Day, Flute Day and Saxophone Day — bringing together local professional musicians, leading manufacturers and players of all levels for a full day of masterclasses, clinics, performances and product showcases. These events are free to attend and open to everyone. They reflect our broader mission — to build an infrastructure that supports musicians in Alberta and provides opportunities and insight to pursue music both professionally and as a lifelong passion.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your address?
We are located at 3619 61 Ave SE, Unit #240, Calgary, AB, T2C 4T8
How can I test equipment before buying?
Send us an email, text us or DM us on Instagram, and we will book a time with you to test out any equipment you are interested in! (Maybe even some that isn't listed online yet.)
What is your favourite instrument?
We play just about everything here, from trumpets to oboes! While it's tough to pick just one favourite, our director, Joshua, loves the trombone!
How much Money do you make?
Not Much... Almost all profit, (except what we need to pay our bills), we put back into the business. What that looks like acquiring new brand partnerships, importing new products, organizing events, and putting together educational resources. We have a strong desire to turn this business into an incredible resource for musicians in Canada.
Do you like food?
Yes, we love food! But before you play an instrument, we recommend brushing your teeth or drinking water.
Why are so many products out of stock?
As we set up new partnerships and order new products, we add them to our online store. If it is out of stock it is most likely a product that is currently in the mail. (If there are products we no longer sell, or products that are discontinued, we remove them from our website.
Do you help beginners choose mouthpieces?
Yes, we can guide you based on your skill level and sound goals.
