Three tip openings suit different playing needs. Size 3 (1.15mm) is the tightest and most controlled option — focused and resistant, well suited to classical playing and players who want precision. Size 5 (1.35mm) is our recommendation for marching band — enough openness to project outdoors without sacrificing control in demanding conditions. Size 7 (1.60mm) is the most open option, for players who want maximum flexibility and dynamic range.
