The HR* alto is JodyJazz's traditional hard rubber alto mouthpiece — warm, free-blowing, and consistent in a way that reflects genuine quality control rather than marketing language. The round sculpted medium chamber and rollover baffle place the tone in classic jazz alto territory: full and centred, with natural projection and an even response throughout the full range of the horn.

It's the kind of mouthpiece that works across styles without asking you to compensate for its limitations — because it doesn't have many. Straight-ahead jazz, big band, blues, ballads — the HR* handles all of it with the warm, beautiful tone that good hard rubber produces and the free-blowing feel that makes long playing sessions comfortable rather than exhausting.

Made from genuine German rod rubber and hand-finished and play-tested to JodyJazz's quality standards. Consistent from piece to piece, which matters when you're ordering without being able to try it first.

Four tip openings cover the full range of alto playing preferences. Size 5M (0.072" / 1.85mm) for more resistance and control. Size 6M (0.078" / 2.00mm) for a versatile middle option. Size 7M (0.083" / 2.10mm) for more room and flexibility. Size 8M (0.090" / 2.28mm) for players who want maximum openness and a bigger personal sound.
