He began his career as an expert in vintage mouthpieces, gaining a reputation as the "go-to" technician for professional players looking to perfect their sound. He founded Saxophone Mouthpiece Heaven in 1998 (a massive historical database) before launching his own brand, Theo Wanne Mouthpieces, in 2007. Theo company has now grown to be one of the best and most innovative mouthpiece companies globally.

Theo Wanne uses advanced 5-axis CNC machining, ensuring every mouthpiece is identical to the original design within microns. They are constantly innovating and experimenting with new dessigns and materials. (Our Director had the opportunity to visit their factory in 2026 and was amazed by what he saw.)

JJ Babbitt and Theo Wanne have entered a new partnership. JJ Babbit owned and manufactured the most iconic names in saxophone history: Otto Link, Meyer, and J&D Hite. With this new partnership they have redone their manufacturing methods combining traditional hard rubber molding with modern CNC manufacturing. they are entering a new era of consistency
