Description
Most mouthpieces are designed around what a lathe can do. The Wedge was designed around how your embouchure actually works. Invented by a trumpet-playing medical doctor, the Wedge uses a curved rim and oval cup shaped to match the natural geometry of your teeth and embouchure. The side rims slope away to the outside, which reduces pressure on the corners of the lips — the area most associated with fatigue and injury on conventional mouthpieces. You play it like any other mouthpiece, but with less interference between the equipment and your embouchure.
The Hybrid version pairs that rim design with a 3D-printed polymer rim and cup liner made from a medical-grade resin used in the dental profession for permanent crowns, permanently bonded to a brass base. The material is warm, comfortable, and responsive — noticeably different from metal on the lips, especially in cold conditions or on long rehearsals.
Two cup options cover the most common trombone playing situations:
AL Cup — A medium cup with a slight funnel shape, comparable in feel to a Bach 6½AL. Delivers a relatively dark sound for its depth. A natural choice for players who find the shallow C cup too bright but aren't ready for the full weight of a symphonic G cup.
G Cup — A medium-deep cup in the Bach 5G family, and the most popular Wedge trombone model for mature players in concert band and orchestral settings. Well-balanced sound with even response across all registers. Also works well for bass trombone players looking for a slightly larger diameter and more depth.
Both cups are available across a range of rim diameters to suit different players and setups.
