10K Clarinet Mouthpiece - CWF

Clark Fobes has spent decades designing clarinet mouthpieces that serious players reach for, and the 10K represents one of his most refined efforts. It began with the successful CWF mouthpiece — itself built on Zinner "A" blanks — and evolved through a collaboration with master machinist Wesley Rice to correct the inconsistencies inherent in that blank and produce something more repeatable, more accurate, and ultimately better in every measurable way.

The character hearkens back to the Golden Age mouthpieces of Frank L. Kaspar from the Chicago period — warm, resonant, and beautifully responsive, with a slight tip baffle that adds presence and projection without pushing the tone into brightness. The warmth is the defining quality: full and rich across the full range of the instrument, with the kind of response that makes playing feel easier than it should.

Every 10K is extensively hand-finished and individually voiced for optimal tone and response — a finishing process that takes time and skill, and that produces a mouthpiece that performs at a level machining alone can't achieve.

Designed to play at A440 with a 67mm barrel, or A441 with a 66mm barrel. Available in three facings: C (0.95mm) for a tighter, more resistant feel; W (1.00mm) for a versatile middle option; and F (1.05mm) for players who want more openness and dynamic flexibility.
