The C-69 brass is the most focused and centred of the Vanguard options — a slender, narrow tone-feel with a slight increase in back pressure that gives the player exceptional articulation control and a highly shapeable tonal response.

The C-69 alloy has a higher copper content than the M-61 brass. That copper content pushes the emphasis toward the mid-tone area, making it slightly warmer than the M-61 while retaining the precise, focused projection the Vanguard is known for. The result is a neck that channels energy efficiently — you immediately feel that everything goes into activating a tight, resonant beam of sound rather than spreading outward.
