Description
The C-69 brass differs from the M-61 brass by having a little more emphasis on the mid-tone area. It makes the neck slightly warmer and also makes it the neck in our Vanguard lineup with the most slender and narrow tone-feel. With a slight increase in back pressure it is a neck with excellent articulation control and a highly shapeable tonal response.
You immediately feel that all your energy goes into activating a highly resonant and tight beam of sound.
The C-69 brass alloy has a copper content similar to the alloys that many instrument makers have used at various times. The ratio of copper versus zinc in a given brass alloy affects formability and strength of the metal as well as the sound and response that the finished neck will have. KB Sax has chosen to use this alloy specifically because of its specific sonic qualities. The C-69 brass has a higher copper content that the M-61 brass.
If you choose to purchase a neck online every neck tenon is custom fabricated to fit your instrument. We will contact you to arrange Tenon measurement/sizing.
