Vandoren V16 Metal Tenor Sax Mouthpiece

The Vandoren V16 Metal is built around the sound of vintage American metal tenor mouthpieces from the 1950s and 60s — the kind of setup that defined jazz tenor playing for a generation. That era had a particular combination of power and warmth that modern mouthpieces often chase but don't always land. The V16 Metal gets there. It projects well in a loud room without going bright or harsh, and the tone stays full and centred even when you push hard.

The T75 sits at a 0.105" tip opening — a size that gives you enough room to move and shape your sound without feeling like you're fighting the mouthpiece. It responds cleanly across the full range of the horn and handles a wide range of styles. Straight-ahead jazz, big band, blues, funk — this is a mouthpiece that moves between settings without asking you to adjust your concept.

This piece has minor plating wear from use, as you'd expect from a played mouthpiece. It has been professionally refaced in our shop to improve playing response — the facing is fresh, even, and set up to play the way it should. In terms of feel and function, it's ready to go.

A legitimate step up in a used mouthpiece at a price well below new.
