Description
The Rico Metalite has a history worth knowing. Designed by Arnold Brilhart — the same mind behind some of the most celebrated vintage alto and tenor mouthpieces ever made — it brings genuine design pedigree to a durable plastic body. The step baffle into a medium chamber gives it a bright, powerful tone with real flexibility, and the M7 tip opening (2.83mm) gives you enough room to push hard when the music calls for it.
For the price, this mouthpiece is remarkable. It's a legitimate jazz and funk bari setup — bright enough to cut, flexible enough to shape, and responsive enough to keep up in a loud band. It also travels well and handles rough conditions without complaint, which makes it a natural fit for marching band or any setting where you'd rather not risk an expensive piece.
A great backup to have in the case, or a primary mouthpiece for a player who wants something that punches well above its cost.
M7 / 2.83mm tip opening. No ligature, cap, or box included. Final sale.
