Description
The Reserve Evolution builds on everything that made the original Reserve a strong mouthpiece and takes it further. Where the standard Reserve was inspired by vintage 1920s designs, the Evolution was developed with the modern clarinetist in mind — a mouthpiece that keeps the warmth and focus of the original while adding more projection, quicker response, and greater flexibility across styles.
The chamber and baffle were both redesigned. A lowered baffle allows more air to move through the mouthpiece, which adds projection and gives articulation more nuance and definition. The chamber was reworked to match, and the window slightly enlarged to accommodate the additional airflow. The blank itself is heavier than the standard Reserve, which keeps the tone rich and full even as the response gets faster.
The result is a mouthpiece that feels immediate and alive. It responds cleanly off the tongue, plays evenly from the low register through the top of the horn, and gives you real room to move dynamically. Warm and refined in tone, but with enough presence and clarity to hold up in solo playing, chamber music, and larger ensemble settings alike.
The medium-long facing and moderate tip opening work well across a wide range of reed strengths and styles. Available in 440Hz and 442Hz pitch systems — the 440 version has a slightly larger chamber for a darker tone, while the 442 responds a touch quicker. Also available in a marble edition, which subtly shifts the tonal character toward a broader, darker sound.
Made in the USA. Pairs well with D'Addario Reserve Evolution reeds.
