Description
The Eb clarinet is a notoriously difficult instrument to get right, and the barrel plays a bigger role than most players realize. The Uversa World Pagoda barrel was designed specifically to optimize the resonance between the mouthpiece and the body of the instrument — and the distinctive exterior shape isn't just aesthetic. The wood is grenadilla aged ten years before machining — the extended aging process stabilizes the material and allows the natural acoustic properties of the wood to fully develop. CNC machining then cuts the barrel to precise tolerances, ensuring consistency between examples. Carbon fiber rings add further stability, protecting against the dimensional movement that wood barrels are prone to in changing humidity and temperature conditions.
