Description
Muramatsu has been making some of the finest flutes in the world since 1923, and the GX sits at the heart of their lineup — a professional instrument at a price that makes it genuinely accessible. It's one of the most popular Muramatsu models worldwide, and it's easy to understand why.
The headjoint is hand-cut solid silver. That matters because the headjoint is where your tone begins — it shapes the colour, response, and dynamic range of everything that follows. A hand-cut solid silver headjoint gives you warmth, depth, and a tonal spectrum that silver-plated or silver-tipped headjoints simply can't replicate. The solid silver body reinforces that character throughout the full range of the instrument.
The key mechanism is the same handmade mechanism used on Muramatsu's top professional flutes — silver-clad, precise, and built for technique. It moves well, feels even across all keys, and holds up over years of serious playing. This isn't a mechanism built down to a price point. It's the same standard Muramatsu applies to instruments that cost significantly more.
This GXii is configured with standard wall tubing, offset G, and split E — a practical, player-friendly setup that works well for advancing students and professional players alike.
Every Muramatsu we sell is inspected and tested by our Muramatsu-certified technician before it leaves the shop. It arrives ready to play, not just ready to unbox.
