Description
Bass clarinets that can handle real-world conditions — classrooms, pit orchestras, marching fields, outdoor gigs — have historically meant plastic instruments with professional compromises. The Royal Global MAX changes that equation entirely.
The MAX is built on the same acoustic platform as the Polaris, Royal Global's professional grenadilla bass clarinet. The keywork, neck, and internal geometry are shared between the two models. What's different is the body material. Royal's ECO composite is a proprietary blend of mostly grenadilla powder and synthetic resin — years in development, and genuinely different from anything else on the market. It provides a resonant sound very similar to the Polaris while adding dimensional stability and crack resistance that wood simply can't offer. This isn't plastic. It's 95% wood by composition, and it plays like it.
The poly-cylindrical bore gives the tone warmth, colour, and even response across all registers — the same acoustic design that makes the Polaris a serious professional instrument. Silver-plated keys, blue steel springs, and leather pads with resonators complete a specification that punches well above the price point.
The Low Eb range makes this a complete instrument for orchestral, concert band, and ensemble playing. Whether you're in a temperature-controlled concert hall or outside in January, the MAX handles it without cracking, swelling, or shifting.
Includes one floor peg for seated playing.
