Description
The euphonium sits between the brightness of a trombone and the depth of a tuba, and a mouthpiece that tips too far in either direction misses what makes the instrument special. The Long Island Brass Co. euphonium mouthpiece was designed around that balance — a unique cup shape that combines elements of a traditional funnel and bowl design to give you warmth and projection at the same time.
The cup starts as a straight wall, transitions into a bowl shape, then opens into a slight funnel at the throat. That progression produces a tone that's warm and gorgeous without the fuzz or spread that a pure funnel design can introduce, and without sacrificing the clarity and projection that the instrument needs to carry in an ensemble. Response and flexibility stay intact throughout.
Both models share a .280" throat and .265" rim width, with the choice between sizes coming down to embouchure preference and playing context.
550E — 25.5mm inner rim diameter. The more efficient option, well suited to players who want control and endurance. 600E — 26mm inner rim diameter. Slightly larger, with a broader feel and a touch more volume potential in the low register.
Built to the same CNC precision and exacting standards as the rest of the Long Island Brass Co. lineup.
