Forestone Hinoki Reed

American unfiled cut, 52% bamboo material inside, Mixed with Hinoki Wood. Available for Alto Sax and Tenor Sax.

This is a synthetic reed that you can forget about as you play it. It lacks the hardness on the tongue associated with other synthetic reeds, it is mouthpiece friendly. It also doesn't seem to dullen the sound in comparison to other synthetics. In someways it seems to feel like a hybrid of a D'addario Venn reed and a BSS Silver box reed. It is mouthpiece friendly. It should outlast many reeds, and with it's consistancy you can purchase a new one and expect it to play similar. Wash it with soap and water and rotate between a pair to extend it's life.

The MH strength feels like a broken in 3 reed or a hard strength 2.5 reed out of the box.
