Description
Chuck Findley is arguably one of the most recorded trumpet players of all time — a Los Angeles session legend whose career spans recordings with Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, the Rolling Stones, Toto, Joni Mitchell, Tina Turner, and Miles Davis, as well as years on the Tonight Show under Doc Severinsen. When a player with that resume collaborates on a signature mouthpiece, the specs reflect real-world professional demands.
The 66MV is built around the same character as the Bach 3C — a medium cup with a modified V shape at the bottom leading into the throat, and a .660 inch inner diameter that sits in versatile, all-round territory. It's a natural fit for pit work, pops orchestra, concert band, and jazz soloing where a big, warm sound with good projection is the goal and a bright lead setup isn't what the music calls for. Good orchestral choice for players who want a little more projection than a darker setup provides, or who already have a naturally dark sound and need the mouthpiece to balance that out.
The Delrin construction — a high-density polymer — gives the rim a warm, comfortable feel on the lips that's distinct from metal. The 10° backbore angle is a standard Wedge design choice that contributes to the focused, even response across the full range.
Comes on a medium backbore. Inner diameter .660 inches. Comparable in feel and character to the Bach 3C, Monette B4S, and Schilke 14B.
