Description
Wood instruments and humidity changes are a difficult combination. When dry wood absorbs warm, humid breath quickly, it expands unevenly — and that's when cracks happen. Bore oil works by filling the wood's pores and repelling moisture absorption, which slows that process down and keeps the wood dimensionally stable through the humidity swings that are a fact of life in Calgary.
Regular oiling also reduces the dimensional changes that affect how joints fit together and how the instrument plays — small shifts in tenon fit and key geometry that add up over time without proper care.
Application is simple: apply enough oil with a swab to leave a thin visible smear inside the bore. Don't soak it — a light, even coat is all it needs.
AlphaSynth's high-quality synthetic formula penetrates well and repels moisture effectively. A small investment in regular maintenance that pays off in avoided repair costs and a longer instrument life.
