Description
Most flute swabs do a reasonable job on the bore but miss one critical area: the cork plate inside the headjoint. The Altieri Flute Wand is designed to reach it. The shape and length of the wand clean the entire bore — including that often-ignored section — which means moisture doesn't get left behind to accelerate pad wear or affect response over time.
The absorbent fabric is mounted to a plastic rod with no metal or abrasive materials anywhere near the bore. Nothing here will scratch the inside of your flute. The one-piece design is long enough to swab the body, foot joint, or headjoint individually when the flute is disassembled — one tool that handles all three sections.
It fits neatly in the flute case cover. Best stored in an outside pocket after use so moisture evaporates away from the instrument.
Hand wash in gentle dish soap and lukewarm water to keep the fabric at peak absorbency — a new wand actually improves with the first few washes as the fabric activates fully.
