Description
Weston Sprott is Dean of the Preparatory Division at The Juilliard School and a trombonist in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, where he has been a member since 2005. His career spans orchestral, chamber, and solo performance at the highest level — a player whose demands on equipment are as specific and considered as his playing.
The Sprott Signature Series is built on the foundation of the Eon tenor mouthpieces, giving it a familiar, traditional feel and response while adding three specific refinements that reflect Weston's personal playing preferences.
The additional cup depth adds warmth and colour beyond the standard Eon — and when combined with the optimised throat dimension, opens up tonal flexibility throughout the full range of the horn. The adjusted throat preserves the responsive, agile feel the Eon line is known for while making it even more flexible. The narrower rim retains Long Island Brass Co.'s signature tucked bite point but with a slightly rounder profile — designed to give the player better engagement and a more personal connection to the mouthpiece.
Three rim diameters suit different players and playing contexts:
525WS — 25.25mm / .994" inner rim, .273" rim width, .265" throat 575WS — 25.75mm / 1.014" inner rim, .273" rim width, .265" throat 625WS — 26.25mm / 1.034" inner rim, .273" rim width, .265" throat
Built to the same CNC precision and hand-finishing standards as the rest of the Long Island Brass Co. lineup.
