Theo Wanne 'Water' Model Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece

Five years of research and development produced something genuinely different. The Water doesn't fit neatly alongside other classical or all-around alto mouthpieces — it has its own sonic identity, and the core of the sound is richer than anything Theo Wanne tested during development, vintage or new.

The design centres on a truly unique small chamber and throat that compresses the airstream into the saxophone neck in a specific way. Most small-chamber designs produce a pinched, tight tone as a side effect of that compression. The Water doesn't. The compression creates richness and depth instead — a full, beautiful core that's warm and centred without feeling restricted or closed off.

The shark gill baffle contributes to the even, responsive feel throughout the range, and the overall character of the mouthpiece is one that rewards players who value tonal depth and expressiveness over brightness or projection. Classical, sax quartet, chamber settings — anywhere a rich, beautiful sound is the priority.
