The Theo Wanne DURGA V is the fifth generation of Wanne's flagship tenor mouthpiece design, and the most refined version of a piece that's become a modern classic in its own right. Players across jazz, R&B, funk, and commercial playing have built their sound around the DURGA, and the V iteration keeps that core character while pushing it further in terms of fullness, core density, and dynamic range.

The DURGA V has a fuller, richer, and more expressive sound than its predecessors, simultaneously powerful and warm, with added core and thickness. The key upgrade in this generation is the Medium-Stadium-Chamber, a proprietary chamber design that combines the openness of a true large chamber with the extra core and density of a smaller chamber, using boundary layer effect physics to improve airflow and projection — the same principle behind the dimple pattern on a golf ball. Paired with a long step baffle and deeply rounded inner side walls that run all the way to the tip, the result is a mouthpiece that can handle high-energy, high-volume playing and still support a full, controlled ballad tone without breaking up. 

The 7* tip opening measures 2.67mm, sitting in the medium-large range, making it a versatile choice for players who want significant output without going into the wider facings where reed control becomes more demanding.

This is the gold-plated metal version. It includes Theo Wanne's integrated two-point contact Liberty Ligature with gold pressure plate, the patented Reed Replacer cap, user-replaceable bite pads, and a leatherette case. Every piece is individually serialized.
