Mechanical Refit and Repad(Woodwind)

We restore your instrument to mechanically condition like new. It will have the same appearance, but have the function and performance of a new, if not better than new instrument.

Springs are checked, adjusted and replaced as needed. Pads, corks and felts are examined and replaced as needed for accuracy and reliability. We have experience with, and are fully certified for any pad choice you desire including, Straubinger(Powel) and Muramatsu.

All mechanisms and related parts are oiled and carefully adjusted to defined specifications. Key-to-key adjustments, such as loss of motion and venting are reset for best performance.

Accessible dents are removed for cosmetic, acoustic and mechanical purposes. Tone holes are adjusted as needed and re-faced for better pad seal and overall performance.

All pads, felts, corks and adjustment materials are replaced with high quality materials. Mechanisms and all related parts are cleaned and well oiled. Keys are refitted to be within 1/1000 of an inch.

We then let the instrument set over a few days and re-assess. Any additional repairs will be completed at this time.

Horrible damage will be an addition cost, to be quoted at consultation.
