Canyon - Tenor Sax Neck

The Canyon was developed around the tonal character of the early Mark VI — that vibrant, buzzing expressiveness combined with the focus and projection of the later Brecker-era horns. The M-61 brass alloy is what makes it work, and KB Sax's proprietary heat treatment process is what unlocks it.

Precipitation hardening — or "aging" — is applied to the M-61 tube after forming. This controlled heat treatment hardens the metal and brings out the specific tonal color and response characteristics that define the Canyon: bright, quick, and free-blowing, with an emphasis on the higher frequencies that give the neck its vibrant, activated feel. The sound opens up as dynamics increase — wider and more spread at higher volumes while retaining powerful projection.

On tenor, that brightness and spread take on real authority. The Canyon rewards players who push — the harder you play, the more the neck opens up and gives back. Quick to respond and immediate off the air, it's the most energetic option in the KB Sax tenor lineup.

The Canyon sits in different territory from the Redwood and Vanguard — more brightness and spread, less mid-tone warmth — two distinct characters, all built to the same exacting standard.
