Description
G. Leblanc built their reputation making professional clarinets in France, and their vintage instruments are still sought after by players who appreciate the tone and feel of older French-made horns. This Bb clarinet is a modified Boehm system instrument — it has been altered in our shop as a working example of the kinds of keywork customizations that are possible on a clarinet. If you've ever been curious about what a modified setup looks and feels like in practice, this is a rare opportunity to try one in person.
The horn has a fresh set of leather pads installed and has been fully set up and is ready to play. It's a legitimate step toward the kind of professional clarinet many players eventually land on — the R13 lineage that has defined French clarinet making for decades shares its roots with instruments like this one. That heritage shows in how it plays: responsive, warm, and capable.
This isn't a student horn, and it isn't a display piece. It's a real instrument with real history, set up properly and ready to be used.
We always recommend coming in to try clarinets before you buy. Every instrument plays a little differently, and the best way to find the one that works for you is to put it in your hands and compare. A basic case is included with purchase.
