Forestone GX Tenor Sax - Cognac Vintage No-Lacquer

The Forestone GX is built as an entry point into Forestone's professional saxophone line, carrying many of the same design choices found on the flagship RX at a more accessible level. This Vintage Cognac finish leaves the horn unlacquered, giving it a warm, aged copper-brown look rather than the brighter, glossier tone of the standard Cognac Lacquered version. It's a finish built for players who want a horn that looks like it's already been played for years.

The body is yellow brass, with an engraved, detachable bell. The GX uses a special engineered hybrid post construction together with a cryogenic FVCT treatment on the neck, a process that brings the metal down to extreme cold to tighten and stabilize its structure, aimed at improving response and consistency across the horn. Pads are Pisoni with metal resonators, springs are blue steel, and the thumb hook is adjustable metal. The body uses full rib construction on both the top and bottom stack, and the horn includes a high F# key.

Tonally, this Vintage Cognac finish is described as giving a big, warm core sound that's easy to modulate, with enough flexibility to move across playing styles without feeling locked into one tonal character. It suits funk and contemporary playing as comfortably as it does more traditional jazz settings. Key touches are genuine mother of pearl, and the body carries hand engraving. 

This unit is new and unused. It will go through our standard play-test and adjustment process before it ships, the same as every horn that leaves our shop.
