Description
The piccolo bore is narrow and the cork plate is easy to miss — the Altieri Piccolo Wand is designed to reach both. The two-piece unit screws together into a single wand long enough to swab the full instrument without removing the headjoint, which matters during a performance when you need to clear moisture quickly without breaking down the horn. Disassembled, it fits neatly in the piccolo case cover.
The absorbent purple fabric is mounted on a carbon fiber rod — strong enough to handle the job, slim enough to fit any piccolo bore without forcing. Store the wand in an outside pocket of the case after use so moisture evaporates away from the instrument.
Hand wash in gentle dish soap and lukewarm water to keep the fabric fully absorbent. A new wand actually improves with the first few washes as the material activates.
