Description
Ten thousand handcrafted professional mouthpieces sold. Thirty years of experience as a mouthpiece maker. The Clark Fobes SF 10K is what that kind of accumulated knowledge looks like when it's distilled into a single product.
The SF 10K is machined from German rod rubber by Wesley Rice of Rice Clarinet Works — a collaboration that combines Fobes' design expertise with Rice's precision craftsmanship. German rod rubber is a premium material: denser and more acoustically consistent than molded alternatives, and the CNC machining keeps every piece true to the design without the variation that hand-worked blanks can introduce. The result is a mouthpiece built for beauty of sound, easy response, and reliable intonation — the three things that matter most on a clarinet mouthpiece, achieved consistently across every example.
Two facings cover very different playing needs. The CF+ (1.00mm / 17mm) is the closer, more resistant option — focused and controlled, well suited to classical and orchestral playing where precision and tone quality are the priority. The Jazz (1.26mm / 19mm) opens things up considerably, with the wider tip and longer facing giving you the dynamic flexibility and freedom of response that jazz playing demands.
Designed to play at A440 with a 67mm barrel, or A441 with a 66mm barrel.
Come try it in our Calgary shop alongside the Virtuoso and 10K to find the right Fobes mouthpiece for your playing.
