The instrument is fully disassembled. Every key is cleaned individually by hand, removing the old black abrasive oil that accumulates in mechanisms over time and causes wear. Keys are lubricated, regulated, and key heights are recorded and adjusted for optimal response. Up to five pads are replaced as needed; additional pads are charged at $100 per pad.
